a comic about kennedy from an alternate universe. wha

hey kids,
it's 3:30am and i'm going thru the typical things that people go thru at 3:05am.
and as i was surfing around various other webcomic thignies, i came across a comic that made me go WTF several times over.

i decided that every other friday... or something... i shall plug a comic that strikes my fancy.

now, i know every other webcomic also does this, but i decided to just announce my doing so to add some hype and whatnot. in fact, i'll probably do this on days other than friday, but i figure i might as well make this seem semi-official, right?

anyway, where was i... oh.. yea.

this comic (the one linked below. not the comics on my site) might be deemed NWS aka NOT WORK SAFE.
i'm just being cautious in case someone is working in an environment where people have problems with pictures of tastefully drawn naked chicks and whatnot.
i personally don't have a problem, but i've known people to get fired for less.
so i'm just warning, that is all.
mature readers. etc. ok, enough of that disclaimer.

today's comic is called the antique white house.
i can't really describe it, so i'll just quote a good friend of mine after i linked it.

Mikre (2:59:43 AM): haha what the fuck
Mikre (3:02:43 AM): this is weird
Mikre (3:05:25 AM): hahahahah weird, man
Mikre (3:10:55 AM): weeeeeeeeird

yup. it's weird.
i have no clue what's going on, but it's really friggin' awesome.
it's got kennedy, and marilyn monroe, and an elf... and a native american... and naked elves... i think.

this is why i love the internet.

the strip's doing quite well too.
it's even been published as books.

my german heritage is proud of this strip.
wait... or is the author is from france?
i don't know.
well, it won a german comic award, so i'll still take the point.

i don't understand what it's exactly about... even after reading them several hundred times.
here's an excerpt of the description from the author.

JFK is a good president, and a good husband - or at least he tries. But it isn't always easy when you have a lot of political adversaries such as the notorious Fidel Castro, the prude Russian Czar, and countless other rivals at home; as well as a gang of spouses that can leave one with a serious headache if things don't go as expected. A man normally can barely handle one wife - let alone four!

yup.
weird.
but not in a bad way.

you can also order tshirts, a mug, and a note book that features:
"JFK on his flying sweeper steels the hat of Vice Johnson." (sic)

yup. you gotta see it to believe it.

Diana Kennedy, thank you.

i love this strip and i don't even know why.

another update (for my comic) up tomorrow.
more suprises too.
take care.

edit:
added a tidbit about a flying sweeper.

OMGOTH GANGS AND FLATTERING HATS

Banning goth clothing for fear of "gangs" is just ridiculous.
[/rant]

This is another fairly early one that's only being seen today.

I really don't have much to say.

Just felt like posting to make up for lack of updated posts.

Jeph @ QC mentioned he got a new hat. I got a new hat 2 Saturdays ago.
He's copying me. :(

Ok, he isn't... but he's right about "A man is not truly a man if he does not have a flattering hat."

Word, Jeph. Word.

The hat?
It's porkpie.
And it's cool.

This Was One Of The First Strips For This Webcomic That I Made...

Yet, I waited this long to show it.

Probably The First One, Actually...
Wait... No, number two..
Anyhoozie...

That was before it was scheduled to be a webcomic.
This one was whored out a lot to various friends and colleagues...
I wanted to see if I had a good concept for a one-panel strip.
Now... 104 strips later...

There are about 3 others that were part of this first batch. You'll see them for the remainder of the week.
They're some of my faves that I haven't yet put up.
They also feature: DIALOGUE WITHIN THE PANEL.
That's another sign they were Early-Hastily-Put-Together-Stuff.
It eventually found it's way to the standard HPT... and well... here we are!
Working on a bunch of new comics too. Stay Tuned!

Oh, how are you doing, kids?
Great.
And what you sir?
Oh, sorry about the sandwich.

Oh, how am I doing? Things are good, but busy.
Involved in a stage-show thingie for the Montreal Fringe Festival. And other stuff.
A mini-website for that will be up shortly (It's sharing this webspace.. coz... well, why not?).
It'll be hilarious.
Trust me.
The Show.
Not the website.
Well, maybe that too... anyway, I'm rambling and this has nothing to do with this comic.
But yea... if there are delays with getting the comic up... well, you know why.
IT'LL STILL BE UPDATED DAILY, I PROMISE.

Sooooo... Thanks again for all the support for the comic.
And keep voting and pluggin' etc.

Enjoy the cartoon!
And I miss my jacket. :(

HAPPY 100 STRIPS EVERYBODY

'Hastily Put Together' has reached strip numero 100.
Wow.
Who knew it would go by so fast?
Well, I kind of did considering I update daily. :
I had a big 100 strips bash planned... but work and more work (with the added addition of work) has put things on hold...

So I shall celebrate strip number 109.

Why?
Long story.
Anyhoo... as mentioned before, I am very busy with various crazy schemes and whatnot... BUT THIS SHALL NOT PREVENT NEW STRIPS FROM BEING POSTED.

HPT SHALL UPDATE EVERYDAY UNTIL SAID OTHERWISE.
I mean that.

It may be late for a few hours... but it shall still be updated. I promise!

So thank you for supporting my site for 100 strips, and hopefully you shall support me for 100 more.
Lots of HILARIOUS STUFF planned.
Seriously.

If you want to know how to support this webcomic, simply click the vote links on the main page.

If they're broken, click anyway.
In fact, click all the buttons.
Make the site known.
Take one of those skanky webcam pics of this site's addy written on your ta-tas.
graffiti it on a desk.
Tell your grocer about it.
Etc.

And continue voting.
The exposure helps.
Any exposure helps, really.

I love whoring.

Happy 100, kids.

A better update soon.
Really.
As soon as stuff gets less busy.

Love ya,
-TR

heads up

We are vast approaching strip number 100!
:O
Well, panel number 100, really.
Do I have something special in store?
Not sure yet. I've been really friggin' busy as of late.

Having said that...
The strips this week may be up a little late.
So, if you're one of those people that check daily at 12:00am (e.s.t)... you'll be frustrated.
Don't kick your monitor or hit F5 a kajillion times... just check a little later.

THE STRIPS WILL BE UP THOUGH.
DON'T YOU WORRY.

Saturday's may be hella-late though due to a comedy show friday night.
Just be patient. :p

soooooooooo...

keep voting.
keep lolzin'.
don't go changin'.
to try please me.
you never let me down before.

wtf...

nevermind. my comp caught a case of 'teh joel'.

Love ya.

Busy Busy Busy

Hey Guys,
How's readerville going?
You doing that reading stuff?
Wicked cool.

A couple of notes:
Yes, this website will be redesigned soon (minimally, of course).
I'll add some new features soon.
Possibly another entirely different comic!
*Gasp*
We shall see. I need to take care of a few other work-work stuff first.

Voting at buzzcomix has been reset again, so keep voting for this site to bump it back up.
If you want, of course.

In other news, it seems like WEBCOMICS.COM has me up at #43 (or #40), which is a very pleasant suprise. :O
Seems like a lot of you have been checking me out from there.
Thank you, kindly. :)
I hope you're enjoying what you're seeing.
The next few strips are kind of weird, so I apologize in advance. :p
They were part of an odd phase.
Like a double-album concept record phase... but without the double-album or concept...
Or something.

Regardless... thanks for the continued support. :)

Which brings me to...
Tool.
I am in utter shock at how many people bought that April Fool prank.
Wow.
Gotta love the internet.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's okay.
You probably wont' care anyway. :p

New comic in 2 hours.

Cya then!

Mitch Hedberg: 1968-2005 RIP

Voting is offline again, but that's not important right now.
Mitch Hedberg is dead.
If you don't know who he was, you should google him.
He was a very funny man.
That's all that needs to be said.

Mitch, you'll be missed.
You brought the lolz.
Thanks, man.
